Online tutoring · grades 1–5

Your kid's study sidekick.

StudySidekick pairs your kid with a friendly young tutor over live video — reading, writing, and math, with a parent nearby on both sides of the call.

No card needed for the intro. A grown-up runs the booking and payments — never the kids.

What kids get

A session that feels like a buddy helping you.

Not another Google Meet to sit through. The format is built for kids who'd rather be at the skatepark.

Live video, not pre-recorded
Every session is a real conversation. Noah and your kid share a whiteboard and work through whatever's tricky in real time.
A friendly tutor near their age
Kids open up faster with someone closer to their world. Noah's 13 — old enough to teach, young enough to feel like a buddy.
AI-polished notes for parents
After every session you get a short, plain-language recap of what was worked on, what clicked, and what's still tricky.
Modern shared whiteboard
Math problems, reading passages, drawings, silly diagrams — all on a smooth digital whiteboard built for kids.

Noah

13, grade 7 — founder & tutor

Noah's biggest inspiration is his grade 7 teacher, Mr. O'Leary — “super calm with students and gives great examples in everything he teaches.” That's the teacher Noah's trying to grow into.

Meet Noah

The kid is the hero. The tutor is the sidekick.

Noah wants to be a teacher when he grows up. He's been a really shy kid himself, struggled to focus in early grades, and did COVID-school online at age 8. He gets what it's like to find school hard — and he wants to be the kind of tutor he wishes he'd had.

Trusted by parents

The safety design, in plain language.

A 13-year-old is tutoring your kid. Before you book, here's exactly how we make that safe — not vaguely, but specifically.

Parent in the room (both sides)
A grown-up is in the room or within earshot for every session. That's the rule, not a suggestion.
Sessions aren't recorded
When the call ends, it's gone. No archive, no replay, no recordings sitting on a server.
No direct contact with kids
No DMs, no texts, no email between Noah and your child outside the session. Everything routes through the parent portal — and through you.
Secure payments via Stripe
You never pay a teenager directly. Your card stays with Stripe — the same processor used by most of the internet.
Marcel is your real human contact
If something feels off — billing, a session, a question — you email Marcel (marcel@studysidekick.ca) and you get Marcel. No support queue.
Future tutors are vetted
Every tutor we add is a kid we actually know, with their own parent's written consent. Same safety rules, no exceptions.
